For Music Monday on this week, we bring to you the second release in our series of live performances from the Goat Farm on March 14, 2013.

If you were in attendance that night, then you probably remember just how quickly the temperatures dropped and the wind kicked up when the sun went down. The crowds huddled around outdoor heaters chomping down food truck delights, tried to warm up while admiring art in an old railroad car… or just braved the cold and watched the performance while downing bottles of Stella.

Well, if you weren’t one of the staunch fans who stayed outside for the show, we hope we can share the experience of Gringo Star’s live performance of their song “Make You Mine”.

#MusicMonday — indieatl has new music for you. Every Monday. Stay Tuned.

But dont be sad.

We have a solution, and this is it!

Check out a synopsis of the films there for you to see.

Scarred but Smarter: Life n Times of Drivin n Cryin (USA)

Director: Eric Von Haessler

Director Eric Von Haessler falls in love with legendary Southern alternative rock band, Drivin N Cryin during their 25th Anniversary Tour. He then wonders, “why did it take me 25 years to discover this band and their incredibly deep catalog of albums?” and “why is this not one of the biggest bands in the world?” …and that led to even more questions…

Cast: Drivin N Cryin, Peter Buck, Ed Roland, Edwin McCain, Darius Rucker, David Lowery, Ty Pennington

(Georgia on Our Mind)

Faces in the Mirror (USA)

Director: Aaron Farrington

“Faces in the Mirror” tells the story of Ben Fisher, a young man who returns home to bury his workaholic father after years of estrangement. On the day of his father’s funeral, Ben goes on a dream-like odyssey where he’s led, portal by portal, to fantastical places with mystifying people who all seem to be guiding him somewhere. He’s looking for a way to be free of his pain and guilt. He’s looking for forgiveness.

Through a collection of music, visuals and emotion, “Faces in the Mirror” is a film that’s not only meant to be seen, it’s meant to be experienced.

Cast: Ryan Orr, Boyd Tinsley, Jessica Mei Gershen

(Screening features live performance by producer Boyd Tinsley [Dave Matthews Band])

A Band of Rogues (Argentina)

Director: T Jara Morgan

The first feature film from Atlanta-based writer-director T. Jara Morgan, A Band of Rogues tells the story of four American musicians (local actors/musicians Luke Williams, Leonardo Santaiti, Jake Ayers and Emory Goocher) stuck in Argentina after they are arrested with possession of drugs. Told in eleven chapters, each of which coincides with a track on their album, this story follows their adventures through rehab, across the country of Argentina, and finally into Chile.

Cast: Luke Williams, Leonardo Santaiti, Jake Ayers, Emory Goocher and Samantha Toro.

(Georgia on Our Mind, Passport Film Series)

The Sapphires (Australia)

Director: Wayne Blair

It’s 1968, and four young, talented Australian Aboriginal girls learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group, The Sapphires, entertain the US troops in Vietnam.

Cast: Chris O’Dowd, Deborah Mailman, Jessica Mauboy, Shari Sebbens, Miranda Tapsell

(Passport Film Series)

Good Ol’ Freda (USA)

Director: Ryan White

History notes that The Beatles were together for 10 years, but Freda worked for them for 11. Many people came in and out of the band’s circle as they grew to international stardom, but Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As the Beatles’ devoted secretary and friend, Freda was there as history unfolded; she was witness to the evolution – advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges – of the greatest band in history. In Good Ol’ Freda, Freda tells her stories for the first time in 50 years. One of few documentaries with the support of the living Beatles and featuring original Beatles music, the film offers an insider perspective on the beloved band that changed the world of music.

(Georgia on Our Mind)

Plimpton: Starring George Plimpton (USA)

Director: Tom Bean, Luke Poling

Plimpton: Starring George Plimpton tells the story of writer, editor, amateur sportsman and friend to many; George Plimpton. Using Plimpton’s own narration – along with thoughts and stories from friends, family and contemporaries – the film is a joyful celebration of a life lived fully, richly, strangely, and, at times, a life that is hard to believe was actually lived by just one man.

Cast: George Plimpton, Hugh Hefner, Robert F Kennedy Jr, Terry McDonell, Mel Stuart, Freddy Plimpton, Taylor Plimpton

Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp (USA)

Director: Jorge Hinojosa

Iceberg Slim: Portrait of a Pimp examines the tumultuous life of legendary Chicago pimp Iceberg Slim (1918-1992) and how he reinvented himself from pimp to author of 7 groundbreaking books. These books were the birth of Street Lit and explored the world of the ghetto in gritty and poetic detail and have made him a cultural icon. Interviews with Iceberg Slim, Chris Rock, Henry Rollins, Ice-T, Snoop Dogg, and Quincy Jones
